update - she found a phone jack in her room. ah-ha!

5:20pm saint louis time
I do believe my roommate has officially outsmarted me. (laugh) for some reason - I can't get online. As a matter of fact, it sounds like someone else is alrady online - even though I don't think that is possible, as I don't think that there is a phone jack in her room. (hmmm)

In an case - I decided this morning that since I wasn't going to rennfest today (icky rainy) that I would go to the fabric store, and get fabric to make a costume for next weekend. I reasoned ths out, as I will wear the costume again - there's dragon, after all, and halloween. :) (I'm writing this in word, and it's so smart, it's scaring me!) I went to the fabric store with a renn outfit in mind - pieced bodice and shirt - I figured I could just wear a skirt that I have, and that be one less thing to make. Well, I couldn't find bodice fabric that I liked. So I went and looked at the patterns, and figured I would make a skirt too, la la la.. and came across this fairy pattern, that I have at home, but not here. I decided to make it, instead. :) so I got two different colors of sari fabric - each to thing to wear alone, but together, they will work. And I got two different kinds of fabric for the wings - I'm not sure which I am using yet. Even at the time, I thought - I can't believe I'm buying myself fabric for a fairy costume. :) but it makes me happy, and even though it was $50, it's worth it for a costume to wear at least twice. So there. :)

I also went to the thrift store/goodwill.. and I found a pair of lane bryant jeans there - well worn in, and in the size that I would currently buy now, if I went to LB to buy some - which is awesome. My jeans are a size larger than these, and these only cost $4. I also got a short sleeved, black stretchy lace shirt, and a little empire waisted dress type thing - its got a black velvet top, and a kind of panelled skirt on it - it's short, so it's not the kind of thing I would wear alone, but it makes me happy.

And I got a new Threads at the fabric store - I saw mary's, and it has a lot of awesome stuff in it this issue. Pattern grading, which I want to teach my class, so I should brush up on it, and inset corners, and all sorts of things. I suddenly want to cover some plastic lawn chairs. (laugh)

So I have a fairy costume to keep me occupied this week, which I am currently washing the fabric for, and next week, I should have my corset kit, and I'll have that to keep me occupied - I need to finish it in four weeks, because that's what I have. I've already asked josh to start packing the next box to send to me, and I have a couple of other things for him to send as well. I'm going to have to send stuff back down to him, otherwise, I'm not going to be able to fit all my stuff back into my car to go to michigan!

Still working on the outline for my clas sin the fall - I emailed tina, asking her if I was trying to do too much, and am waiting on her response. She probably won't even get the email until Monday or Tuesday. I should probably copy it to her home email account, but that would involve finding the address for it again. Ha.

Hmm.. off to do something non-productive. J

I know, I know - but I waited a week to name him. And it's reminiscient of Loki. :)
