[livejournal.com profile] normal's post was pretty good about the show. :) I would have to say that, overall I enjoyed the show in Saint Louis better. It was a smaller venue, with less shit, and i just liked it better. (shrug)
we got to the masquerade around nine, to stand in line for a half hour and discover that contrary to their website, rasputina was *not* the only band playing, and they were *not* going on at nine. of course not. stupid me. so [livejournal.com profile] normal and I decided to go elsewhere. We made it to oxford to pick up a comic he wanted, and then we headed to my dad's to pick up some of my mail. I also went through the numerous boxes of fabric, etc in my room at my dad's, and pulled out stuff to use for my class. noticed that my great-grandmother did the same thing that i do with lengths of fabric, which is pin a piece of paper to them stating what they are for. :) I probably got it from her, anyway, but it made me smile. then we went to see my dad at the bar. :) I was kind of risking it, i felt, because i was in a pretty short skirt, and he's not used to seeing me that way, but i figured what the hell. he liked my hair, a lot. kept telling me that it was cute and good - yay. he can tell my grandparents that. :) then we headed back over to masquerade and parked, and went inside to see rasputina. lots of people - a change from last time. last time we got at the club/bar (much much smaller than heaven!)right about when they were supposed to play, and still got up near the front, kind of. i forgot to do what deirdra told me, and use an ammo box for a purse - before the next concert, however, i plan to. we stood for a while, and then my knees gave out, so i decided to sit. i didn't think that they were going to come back for an encore - they didn't in saint louis, but maybe there just weren't enough people there. but they did, and it made josh happy, because they played wish you were here. he knows a lot more of their stuff that i do. :) so all in all, it was a good night, we got home about 2:45 or so this morning (well, see said post) and i called my dad to let him know we had made it back, as a courtesy. then i crashed - woke up this morning when josh said bye, and woke up again (for good) with kitty meeping outside the door rather persistently. i really can't sleep through *anything* - although it may seem that way sometimes.
i do wish [livejournal.com profile] wiwiff and [livejournal.com profile] deadparrot would have been able to come, though.

i'm ready. i have a goal for the day - a good thing to have, because i have to have these renderings done by monday, so i can take them with me. (sigh) so my current goal is to do 6 renderings (i have to do 12), read some scenography for comps OR do the other 6 renderings, and type up my action chart for laramie project (since i am meeting with my director, probably on tuesday, and it would be nice to have something. :) i also need to reread the play, but i don't think that's going to happen today.)

chris and michelle may call about me helping them move, but they didn't call yesterday, so who knows. i find that kind of odd, but maybe they lost my number? hmm.

so yeah - off to throw on some sort of clothing, and then get started - and it's only noon. (laugh)

a question for everyone, regarding art supplies.

i'm not terribly good with paint, although i like the flowyness and the way it fills in the texture of the paper.
I don't press hard enough with prismacolors, apparently, because i don't really like the way they look like crayons/thetexture of the paper shows through. and i can't press down for a long time, because my hands will cramp.
I like markers - but i don't like the lines that they leave inbetween strokes.

so what are my options? i mean, really, what I would like is a semi-liquid prismacolor, in a pencil form . :) but i don't think that exists. any sugesstions? and i can take paint thinner to prismacolors, and it does pretty well, so that's what i did last semester, but it's not terribly good for you. (laugh)
