Oct. 19th, 2002 10:55 amhad a lovely dinner with tim and robyn last night, but was way too tired to go to crucible. (sigh)
this week has been interesting. I didn't do my homework (drawing of the week) until thursday morning. I don't know why i thought I could get four and a half of them done in five hours. (hah!) Instead, I got two and a half done. And two of the three - fucking amazing. That kind of stuff has *never* come out of my paintbrush before. It was somehting about all the costume design I've taken, plus the scene design and the teacher painting while we watched, and my makeup class - suddenly, six years of work came together, and it was beautiful. :) I'll see if I can post pictures of the magazine pics and my renderings - they're not perfect, but they are far far better work than I have ever done.
Prague meeting.. again, interesting. Not fun - did a decent amount of soul searching after it, in a conversation with tina. Basically, instead of allowing the group to discuss the jobs, etc, they were just decided, and we were told to pick two. And one person is rendering the show - so it's not like some of my work is going to prague. I'm a bit disappointed. or I was. But, whatever. It's not the end of the world, by any means. so phooey on them. (laugh) and it lead to some interesting realizations.
I had fittings this week, for my show. and watched a run through. things are really going pretty well. The first couple of fittings were really easy, which surprised me. Now, the typical notes are cropping up. and we have fittings next week, plus angel wing fittings.
can i just say that I love the antimony and lace goth diy page? :) antimony & lace site
played with caulk yesterday with jess. and worked out two possible solutions to the angel wings. we'll see what works. Today, I'm going shopping (once the game starts, as it's homecoming) and finding a decent amount of the stuff that we didn't have for people for fittings. sweaters, a pair of zip-off khakis, and a pair of jeans. plus, picking up my fabric at jo-ann;s, and probably getting craft-y things. I'm also mailing stuff out today - returning a borrowed costume, mailing a vest to someone, and mailing my packsomeluff, most likely. That's my goal, so I could stop by the mall and mail it all there. :)
so yeah - this weekend is for costume design and scene design, and shopping the show. next weekend is a busy weekend - a pannell party on friday night, a halloween party on saturday night, and going to a show in atlanta on sunday.
