josh's grandmother died last night. well, her body.
and, so did our dryer.
the weekend could definitely be worse. and the dryer *did* give out *after* most of our stuff was done. happily. but now I have to figure out how to either get another one, and get this one fixed. my dad seems to think that getting another one would be cheaper - which is lovely for him. but - if i get a new dryer, i'm taking it with me in two years - which won't help the sale-a-bility of the trailer, by any means. hmm..

Date: 2002-10-06 08:18 am (UTC)The dryer business sucks. I think Daddy told me once that while washing machines are darn near infinitely fixable, dryers aren't.
But resale on appliances is never very good, so you can probably get a used one very cheaply if you check the classified ads. Also, we got a great deal on a fridge at a local scratch-n-dent appliance place. It was just a few hundred dollars and brand new, instead of $1800 without the scratch that doesn't hurt its performance at all.
