Nov. 17th, 2001 09:36 amhmm.. so thatnks to a friend, i found out that poe is playing in atlanta tomorrow night.. i am currently wondering if i should overcome my crowd aversion, and goo.. I'll discuss it with josh when he gets home.
So I went to the doctor yesterday, and all is well there. she gave me enough bcp to last until april. yay! and then we went around town - went to pearl, and I got matte board (sp?) for my hamlet renderings, as I plan to go to the library and do some more research for those either today or tomorrow. Lauren suggested some really cool ideas, and I think I'm definately going to go with them. Then we went to oxford, and I was horribly bad.. They had three new nightmare before xmas things there - a jack mug, a sally mug, and salt and pepper shakers. So I bought all three. I think the salt and pepper shakers are going to be for me, but the other two are for the josh. They also had delirium figures, and the scarytales chicks (which are just too terribly cute!) and I weanted to get them, too, but josh suggested I wait, and look for them out here first - I'm going to be back up in town on tuesday, anyway, soi i can always pick them up then.
then we went to outback. yum, i say. no wait, and a kick ass waitress. We split san outback special, josh got a side of cheese fries, and I ordered another salad. So we saved about $6, and walked away with no leftovers, and feeling pleasantly sated, not stuffed and unable to move. yay. :) then we went to meet miss jen at phipps, in the hopes of seeing the harry pottere movie - it had sold out all except for the 11:15, which i didn't want to stay for. she got a ticket for that one, though, and then we did some shopping. I went to the museum co and got a little train toy for my uncle, for a dollar. i'm doing bargain shopping for my family, apparently. :) then we went to the bookstore, and josh got some really cool cards, and they also had some really cool books there, but they were a bit too expensive, i think. they are by lemony snicket, and he simply loves them. :) plus, they came in a cool metal tin, with 12 cards,a nd they were only $3!
then, we went down stairs to the elephant tea company, or whatever it's called now. they had a lovely jasmine tea mix, and being the suckers that we are, we cought tea and stuff. :) I wanted pepermint (and their peppermint is GOOD!), and then they offered me a metal tine for an extra $4.50 to keep it in, so I got it (pretty. shiny. ) and then josh wanted some of the jasmine and other mix, so we got that, too. yay. :) then we went by the bar to see my dad (again) and sara and her new(ish) boy, Charles, were there! I got to se her, which rocked. I also mentioned that her breasts shrunk (they DID) and she yelled at me. :) but she was really happy to see me, and i was happy to see her, as well - it's good to know where she and her boy hang out, and it was good to finally meet him. he and josh talked - apparently he works at earthlink, and so josh may be able to get a job in his deptmt or something, which would be neat.
then we come home, after stopping by my dad's house to say goodbye to trish (my kitty, or really, his now) and get a 40% off micheal's coupn, and when I get home, there's an email waiting from Jace asking when a good time in the next month is to visit! I just had the best day yesterday. So hopefully, she's coming down in the next month.
Plans for today - go and usher for the afternoon show, i think. get my theatre history books from the school while i'm there, and possibly hit up the libabry - definately do a drive by and return the library books. and clean! i need to wash clothes, and dishes, and me. :) and clean up the living room from my mess the past couple of weeks. it'll surprise josh, once josh gets home, we'll go to michaels, and get some candlemaking supplies. Lauren and CHad do it, apparently, and it sounds like a great idea. I don't want to blatantly steal their idea, though, so I'm not giving it as gifts to ppl at school - i think that would be rude. however, it is a lovely solution for our families, and our friends in atlanta. :)
trying very hard not to step on anyones toes here. and for next year, i had what I consider to be a really good idea for joshs and my families gifts.. it came from one of the other grad students, originally, because he asked for aol cd cases, as he is giving picture cds to his family, and i talked to him about it, and then thought - this is cool. well, i asked my gma to make me up a photo album type thing of her and gpa's life for xmas last year or so, and she hasn't, but i thought it would be cool to take a lot of the old pics they have and scan them in, and put them, with newer ones as well, on a cd, and then give it to them for next year's xmas.
As for josh's family, well, they get together lots of times a year (tgiving, xmas, easter, 4th of july, labor day, sept bday) so we could start this year at tgiving/xmas, and go through to next tgiving, and then make a phot album of the year and give it out to everyone. josh said he could write an easy program to put on there to run it, and I think it would be really awesome. especially since he and/or i might have a digital camera soon. hee. :) so my mind is currently in overdrive right now about xmas presents and what to do, but that's ok. i like it being in overdrive.
and i keep adding ppl to my list. :) which is kind of nice - my list was small, and i was wonderinf who/what i was forgetting.

What a bizarre way to start a Saturday.
