i got my camera, yay.. :) of course, I don't actually get to play with it, which is fine, but i do have it. it was starting to look like I wasn't going to be able to get it, because a lot of places were out of stock. and i got a 4-year warranty with it, and since I had a 10% off coupon, it was only $10 more than it would have been without the warranty. woohoo. :)
i love my dad - especially since it's all on his credit card. he rocks.
so now, I am off to clean up the living room a bit, followed by either theatre history or costume design, depending on mood - and there will be a shower in there somewhere. Josh goes to work at 3, and pat's coming over at some point, which means I probably won't get much done when he's here. :)

Date: 2001-12-09 05:36 am (UTC)here's some of the stuff off the best buy website for it-
2.11-megapixel CCD for high-resolution images
New digital signal processing IC improves resolution and luminance
2x optical/2.5x digital zoom lens
Change image-quality settings even in auto shooting mode
Through the lens (TTL), 3-point artificial intelligence autofocus
Record VGA-sized movies with sound at the rate of 20 frames per second
USB connection allows image transfer directly to PC
Store images on CompactFlash memory cards
Built-in flash with red-eye reduction
I mainly got it to have something to carry around with me, and to be able to see the pics I take of costumes before I go to develop the film and such things.
You'd probably be more interested in the one that Josh got for graduation - it seems more your style. :) It's a Sony DSC-s85, and it will do black and white, color, and sepia - you can auto focus it, or do it manually. and it does video, etc, etc - and it's 4.1 megapixel. It's really cool, and why I didn't feel that I had to get abetter one - 'cause he'll let me use his. :)
