(no subject)

i have a slightly sore throat. ick. I am hoping it goes away - i am working on the lots of liquid thing.
it's supposed to be cold and rainy today and thus, i don't want to take the bus in, i want to drive.. hmm.. i shouldn't thoug, 'cause i drove yesterday, but i probably will anyway. maybe even snow. :)
I have a timeline of veronica frano's life (the courtesan in dangerous beauty, which i am doing my movie presentation on in less than a week. :) ) tonight, i will watch the movie again, and plan on figuring out what scenes i want to talk about. then i am going to have to find out about costumes and their history. ugh. this is work, especially since the guy in the class brought us all up to a higher standard with his presentation, and as a graduate student, i'm expected to do even more. Thus, i shall have handouts. :) haha. Something for them to take with them, and treasure forever! And maybe it will make up for my sad rough dsraft!
we get back our midterms today - it's a pass/fail class for me, so as long ass i pass, i am not too worried about it (is that a bad attitude? i only have it towards this class) and I am eagerly anticipating anohter "you should have studied with..." an undergrad commment.. or not.. oh yeah, love this class.

You know how you have those days when you just wish you could turn the cloack back? yesterday was such a *good* day.. Today started out as one of those days, although luckily, did not end up as one.

I went in early, to read some costume history before class. You know, starting on a new foot, all that. The I went to class, and got back my midterm. I managed to drop a full two letter grades form my last test - I got a D-. NOT the kind of grades that are expected from a graduate student, let me tell you. Oh, and before class, when I asked her a question about a term used in my paper, she told me that she just guessed I needed tyo fugre that one out on my own, if I was going to use it in my paper. I kind of sat there.. and went, Okay, i will then. And then she started to explain it, and I said "It's okay - I'll figure it out on my own" and proceeded to ignore her. She pissed me off so much. She told me what it was, but I don't remember, as I was ignoring her.. Kind of shooting myself in the foot, I suppose, but she pissed me off. And then she was like"well, you got it out of me" and I was sitting here thinking "fuck you and this 'educational' environment".. ugh!
then I go to draping and have one of those awful awful days where I feel completely and totally lost - have no idea what I am doing, so I just do somehting,. it's like a feeling of being tested, after being briefly shown something, and you're the slowest kid in the class.. there is just me and laura, which i thought - yay more personal instruction. hah. right. it's a, okay, laura has finished this step so let's move on, or "oh, well, i guess we'll wait for kristy to finuish"... we were draping sleeves, which is a pain in the ass, and something you wouldn't do unless you had to.

so i get a good bit done this afternoon - i start working at 12:30, which was great, and I get a skirt sewn togetherm, and the fabric for my other skirt, and i am ironing and rolling it (we store it rolled on tubes, to keep it wrinkle-free-ish) and my cost hist teacher comes in, with my paper.. My paper sucked ass, but shegave me a lot of good suggestions.. I don't understand how to write a 15-20 page paper on what she wants me to, but i guess i will manage! and then she talked to me about the test, which i knew was inevitable.. i honestly odon't know what happened - i guess i just didn't have that good of a handle on the information. i know for a feact i felt really really overwhelmed! but today was better - we started 17th century, and went over the cavalier period and such., so that was pretty clear. I don't know why I am not getting the connection. I think I need to go back and figure it out, like i have time for that! ohwell.
bradley's on his way - someone to eat dinner with, and watch dangerous beauty with, I love it when I can combine my homework with being social. :) it will be nice to seem him again, i think it's been a couple of weeks, almost. and he's so busy now.. :)
I hope my Josh's day has been better than mine!
