So here's the deal - I found out that neither place I am living this summer provides a microwave or a vcr. I will have my laptop, and I'll have a tea kettle.

thank you. :) I have Josh's microwave, as he's keeping mine in the house this summer, and I have a toaster oven, and i have a vcr - it's just that I only have my car to pack stuff in, so I am trying to get it down to essentials.

Hm, can your laptop play DVDs?

Also: perhaps spend the summer stretching your "real" cooking on a budget-
while the nukrowave is convenient - and annoying not to have when cooking
something that seems stupid to dirty a pot with, like pre-made soup...
but aside from watching frogs pop, I don't know of anything that requires
a micro...:)

no - my laptop is a word processing/email machine - it's a thinkpad 760el. (laugh)yeah - I'm thinking the microwave isn't necessary. I'm wondering about the vcr - there's always buffy tapes. :) and angel, too. if I knew I could watch those up there on tv, i wouldn't worry about it, either.. i should just get over it - I'm taking a little grill with me. that should solve pretty much anything - and I should be able to heat up leftovers in the oven..

really? :) yay! more time with fiona, *and* a way to watch buffy.

I was telling josh last night I'd be all alone when I went away from the summer, and he said - except for seattle, satyr, and allison (who are some of my friends in that area)and I replied with - and Fiona! She's a wombat. And Karin's one, too!

He suddenly lost sympathy for me. :) hee. but I feel better.
