i made it home. met a couple of boys - saw a couple of girls i would like to meet. introduced a girl to midori sours.

feel like if josh had been there, would have been more people to talk to. and i really wish that djs would play more ethereal goth-y music - changelings, delerium, even voltaire (ok, not ethereal, but at least i know it. :) ), rasputina! why don't they? (callie? any thoughts?)

am home safe - it was free. and i went to karaoke before hand - danger danger! there are songs there that i would actually sing. eep! keep me away form the alcohol, i say.

checking email and lj and then to bed with me.

Its not easy fitting ethereal into a club night. A DJ could probably spin no more than 3 or 4 such songs in a 2 hour set. Otherwise, a club is too high energy an environment to play downtempo material for long. I try to throw it in when I can, but it simply doesn't pack the floor as well as, say, VNV.

Of course, there are some cities that have club nights specifically to cater to such tastes. Usually, these are done in coffeehouses where people gather round to converse, as opposed to dance.

At the night A and I go to, the DJ starts his set with etherial and works up to a more crowd-pleasing night; VNV and the like. It makes me happy because I can hear the music I really like and it sets the mood for everyone else. Maybe you could make your requests at the beginning of the evening.
