Jun. 16th, 2002 05:52 pmand., i'm hearing things about bush speaking at a graduation, and it being strongly discouraged for people to turn their backs, and appluse beng, essentially mandatory - and it disturbs me. can i move to nova scotia or canada, now, please?

Date: 2002-06-16 11:31 pm (UTC)I wouldn't call what the colleges are doing as fascism or communism but more of neo-repubilacnism. Not the party of Republicans, but the Unionist state of being of "pro-democracy".
I can't quite put my finger on weather or not George Bush Jr. is a mason or not... I couldn't figure out if Bill Clinton was a scientologist or not, but feelings aside it's not really true to democratic feelings but rather grand old republic feelings towards nationalism. But fasicsm it is not becuase it still supports democracy in a sick sad way. I'm not sure if that makes sense...
It's the difference between a dictator saying I still support democracy as apposed to a dictator that outright says "democracy sucks because the people that vote are idiots".
I'd put more faith into a dictator that upfront tells you that your rights are null and void than the one that gives the run around and still says you are free but that you are not.
