okay people - leave me a comment, and tell me something good that has happened to you - preferably lately. :) I need some goodness in life, and I'm willing to live vicariously. :)

Goodies

I made a friend..
I got my creative streak back
I made gifts for people
My mom told me that despite what I may believe, she's actually VERY proud of me.
I saw my attacker in court and didn't totally freak out..
I've got a tarot reading in a few days
I've started loving myself
Strangers are kind to me
A guy told me that seeing me, and how well put together I was and how pretty I was changed his opinion about dating women of size..(I'm like the ambassador of good will for men venturing into the world of curvy women now)

Life is sweet..
I have chocolate
I learned to make roasted potatoes that are edible

Small pleasures..but they're mine..and I'm happy :)

One of my neighbor's guests commented on how "feng shui" my balcony is.
My mom bought me a new fun-shaped cake pan, and asked me to decorate a cake for her office because she thinks I'm talented.
A boy I've adored for a while seems to want to spend quality time with me.

and...my cat actually sat in my lap for more than 30 seconds. She's not a lap-cat either.

A ghost cake pan. I think I need to come up with some really funky flavor for it though. Any ideas?
(it's going to have homemade buttercream icing...)

My balcony is pretty simple. I have one surviving rose bush, one (6") Colorado Blue Spruce, a wooden park bench, and a strand of rope lights around the top of the railing. I really need to get the deceased plants replaced, but I think I'll wait until spring.

I had today off from work
~I don't have to wear my uniform at work for the next couple of days - "biker dress" is authorized... too bad the gm didn't mean chaps and a leather 'bikini' ;)
~ I finally paid my car payment, so a weight has been lifted
~ After doing that, I still had some money left over to lend to my younger brother, who is in need
~ I'm bonding with my almost brother in law
~ And my older brother's roommate! lol

~ Best of all, to myself ... my story is congealing in my head, better
~ And I'm feeling more hope that when I start selling jewelry and maybe chainmail outfits, I'll have a market for it

* I had yesterday off from work
* I cleaned my house
* I bought some new shimmery fabric to add to the drapes on my bed (it's a four-poster canopy)
* I had a "good hair day" today despite the wet weather
* I got a new vegan cookbook

and um...that's all I can think of right now? :)

+ Learning FIDM has redone their entire Creative Design section of the Fashion program, making it much easier on the students. That caused a huge stressful weight to be lifted. Maybe I can actually live this quarter.

+ My moms birthday was yesterday, the b/f bought her something that she really liked. It was nice to hear her say he's got good aspects to his personality (something she doesn't admit to often).

+ Getting to reconnect with all my friends from FIDM after not seeing them all summer. Actually, starting school period. I'm dreading the lacking free time but at least I'll have a feeling that I'm actually accomplishing something.

+ Discovering a really yummy Japanese restraunt around here that sells Sushi! Yum.

Not many good things have happened due to the current events in my life, but at least I have those.

-- I had a lovely day off of work, yesterday.

-- I got to take a great afternoon nap with 3 cats.

-- We had great chili tonight. It was a good day for it.

--I'm getting to pass off policy tasks and focus on my research. (Hey, that's what I was hired for-- who'da thunk?)

-- I had a journal article accepted for publication.

--I'm making really fabulous friends here in Atlanta.

I hope some good things come your way too!

We're in love. And it's reciprocal :-)
Katie had a great visit with her paternal grandparents today, and they actually acted respectfully towards our family and the boundaries we've set for the first time ever.
We're moving towards resolving, or at least improving, some longstanding issues in our family here.
I just had yummy noodles for dinner.
I had a baby fix yesterday and will have another one tomorrow courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] _starrgirl_
R and G came home safely from their trip to the west coast this weekend.

good things

Hm.

* I've been told I'm getting a promotion of sorts, at least so far as actual job titles are concerned.
* My partner-with-whom-I-live just got a job offer after two months of contract preceded by eight months of absolutely nothing
* I seem to be getting the seal of approval from the primary of one of my other partners; actually I seem to be on good terms with all of my partners' primaries.
* I'm road-tripping to Philadelphia to see Sing-Sing at the end of the month.
* I got an invitation to go visit my former roommate that I miss horribly.
* pumpkin ice cream
* I haven't been shot at. ;)

Hmmm ... not particularly good news lately ...
though I did log onto Caltech's MonsterTRAK which has job postings specifically for Caltech students and alumni. It looks like a much higher caliber of jobs and all companies instead of head hunters :)

Not so recently ... I met you :)

- I really enjoy my job and co-workers.
- I have a bed to sleep in, which rocks so much.
- I decided to indulge and go fabric shopping today.
- Despite my house flooding with sewage, I managed to laugh my way through the whole thing.
- The Learning Channel rocks my socks.

i measured the furnace for a filter today, went to lowe's, but there were no filters in the size i measured. hoping i'd allowed some ease (i couldn't remember), i bought one an inch longer than i thought i needed.

it's a perfect fit. i managed to get the furnace covers back on and back up stairs without (a) bruising myself on the rock foundation; (b) running into any spiders; or (c) causing a gas explosion.

:)

I took 4 homeless men out to lunch yesterday and talked to them for a bit. It seems like it was nice for them, but really it was nice for me because of the good and warm feeling I got from it. I also got photos of my gargoyle prince.

good things....
