fairy tales -

i absolutely adore fairy tales and retellings, but i'm curious as to what other people think -

what are your favorite/most memorable fairy tales? (name up to 12)

what are the images that stick with you from those stories? (i.e., cinderella - slipper, carriage)

and if you have any suggestions of authors or books, that would be fabulous too! i went through all the different colors of fairy tale books when i was a kid - or as many of them as i could find.

Not exactly what you are looking for but Cinderalla and not for the story line, but for the song from the Disney movie, "A Dream is a Wish".

I had a disney album and record player and my mom never seems to tire of embarrassing me by telling others the story of the night I had my disney album on my record player in my room and I was singing to this particular song over and over as she hid outside my door and listened.

I tried to put my little sister through the same embarrasement by talking her into singing for my parents guests at dinner parties, but she turned out to be great at it and is now a professional performer.
