i'm back home. went to court this morning - found out the same thing that i founf out when i called - i have to go to court, or pay it. so i am going to see what i am looking at - i do have time to wait and see what kind of classes i would be missing (the second day wouldn't be that big of a deal, right? :) ) and I need to see if there owuld be points taken off my license or not - if not, it might be worth it, bbut if so, i may just go anyway. my dad say something about how even if i go, they may still make me pay, and they might charge me for court time as well.. -sigh- I just don't know - I don't have that much experience with the atlanta courts.

Per my experience with Atlanta traffic courts (and yes, alas, I have some), you are not charged for Court time...if you show up and have proof that you had renewed your tag decals at the time (that is, you have the receipt/documentation they sent you with the decal, showing the date as being before when you were pulled over) then they may very well dismiss it (I had nearly the exact same situation happen to me - no tag, but had it renewed ON my court date, and they still accepted that). The general attitude seems to be that showing up for the court date means a little something in their minds for relatively minor infractions, so they're a tad more lenient, usually. When I had to pay a fine for my tag, I think it was about $65, but was definetly less than $100. (I know neither price is ~great~, but all things considered, it could be much worse)

Unless I'm missing some detail from your recent posts about your misfortune with all of this. Sorry to hear - I know it's a hassle and a half.
